Metatarsal Stress Fracture Adelaide
What would it be like to not walk with an ache in the middle of the behind the toe joints?
- Is pain in the ball of your foot ruining your day?
- Do you get throbbing pain in your forefoot which is not severe to begin with?
- Does it worsen with activity (walking/running/sport)?
- Do you get woken up in the night due to pain?
Pain in the Ball of the Foot (Forefoot) is a most common problem we see at Adelaide Podiatry Centres. In our clinic we have a special focus in diagnosing and treating this condition, and our niche is cases that have been chronic and difficult to fix.
A Stress Fracture is a crack in the bone due to repetitive loading and overuse. The applied load is far less than required by a single impact fracture, however it is due to thousands of small impacts. The most common stress fracture occurs in the thinnest part of the second long bone (metatarsal).

Forefoot Pain can be a serious problem and needs to be treated fast once it presents or ideally prevented in the first place. Often our patients will report that they just can’t get up and go anymore, playing with the kids gets harder and exercise becomes near impossible. It will be a major issue for you (and your exercise plans) if you don’t act early.
